This is what's up with me.

Frezzo wants me to take Concert Choir as a class next semester, but I really want to take Drawing and Design. It's probably my only to chance to take an actual drawing course.. as in, someone actually instructing me, not me reading some book or something, and should help me improve leaps and bounds even if according to Malex there's not much to it. I'll at least benefit from the practice, and stuff stolen from the art supplies, and I've never used charcoals before. It feels like if I don't take a course at least some time in my life, I'm going to be continuing to slog through Drawing Medocrity for a good long time. I know I'll have a lot of opportunities outside of next semester in my life to take a drawing class, but I'm afraid I'll simply never get around to it, like I've never gotten around to taking horseback riding, mountain climbing, skating, skiing, weaving baskets, and writing The Great American Fantasy Novel. (ha) I like CC but not that much; truthfully, the only reason I'm in it is because I feel horribly lonely when people start spontaneously singing in the halls and in class and at parties and stuff. It seems like everybody knows the same songs except for me. I don't know how to tell Frezzo though; it sounds kinda wrong. "Gee, I don't really like singing, I'm just doing it because my friends are doing it."

Saw Gladiator last night, rented by my dad. V. good movie. Have now been initiated into the enjoyable world of R rated violence.

("The Cube" does not count as enjoyable)

Learned how to use Microsoft Xcel this afternoon. Am V. productive, but still happy. I suppose it wasn't very good that I was doing "due on on Friday January 24" physics labs on Xcel today, but anyhow. Done is done, and I'm still happy.

Am going to Josh's party in an hour. I feel kinda guilty about this, because I was walking down the hall in skool with Malex and Josh was passing out little papers, and he gave one to Malex and I sorta took one before seeing it was an invitation and thinking, whoops, it's sorta his prerogative to give one to me. I invited myself to his party. Blah. >_< There really isn't a graceful way to give it back. Wonder who'll be there. Also hope his house ain't cold. Malex says (or this is something he would say): YOUR MOMMA'S HOUSE AIN'T COLD LAST NIGHT! Anyhoo.

Have finished art masterpiece in physics: Angry Fat Goth Chick.

Puffy drew a most impressive picture of Saddam Hussein, though he claims it's Josef Stalin.

Also, conceptual designs for a Kiltmono.

You thought you would escape it, but you can't.

It would be a lot easier to draw my teachers if I actually knew anything about drawing facial structure.

You know what annoys me about drawing portraits for peoples' MUD characters (art contest)? They're so damn bad at describing them.

Blonde hair, blue eyes.. good, good.. it's amazing how little people will describe shapes, which is actually what you need, and talk so much about color. Ideally, your descript should be detailed enough so that if I were to leave this picture in black and white you'd still know that it was your char. I know the color of the lips.. but I need to know if they're full, or long, or thin, or pouty.. I know the eye color, but I don't know if they're upturned, downturned, narrow, almond, squinty, close together, deep set... eyebrow shape, which is pretty damn important, I know nothing of.. Nose.. I can't draw noses anyways, so it shouldn't matter. Still. 'Small' isn't gonna cut it.. this is a description used by every other female character as standard procedure because girls don't like to think of themselves as.. well.. having noses. For women (they think), at best, their noses don't look half bad, and at worst, it totally screws up an otherwise half-decent face. Cheeks? Hair? At least say if it's straight or wavy or curly or shoulder length or if she has bangs or something.

If all you have for your char is a blonde haired, blue eyed girl with a tan and average breasts and hips, you could just find a random picture online and it'd be more worth your time.

The ship drawing tutorial. Step 1. "Get a good book on elementary perspective which can be understood." DOH! -_-

It's sort of funny. It's like a "Shakespeare for Dummies" thing or something. Shakespeare for Dummies... Step 1. Learn to read.

I found this particularly amusing, though probably no one else will.

Been drawing boobies for Nick B, for the French Rev issue of Skank. Hope he likes them.

Emi's a really good artist, but the style she enjoys emulating is awful. The apex of that art style is *Pokemon*, and she really could do so much better. I'm not saying she has to do something lame and conformist, but the Pokemon style really is crappy. I don't have anything against anime, and even by anime standards, Pokemon is crappy. Some manga art honestly blows everything away, and Pokemon isn't it.

You know what will be a very difficult drawing study? Nick S in drag. I'm doing it for a "back issue" of Skank Mag, since Nick B has requested more porn. Hmmph, and he doesn't even take the time to laminate them. I don't want him to soil my beautiful covers. (BTW, Life Sucks, their is no Hope in this World, angst angst, the System is drowning me. Etc. Old news.)

It's hard drawing porn. And don't even think of that as a pun. I just can't get poses and skin texture shading right. I guess the first step in learning to draw is learning to see things, instead of drawing what you think you see. And then the next step is drawing things in 3d on a 2d medium, like, learning how to put the basic geometric shapes that constitute every object on paper. Which is where I'm at now. Now I need to learn the subtleties of lighting and texture. I think that's maybe my new goal in life. That and becoming a porn artist.

Newton kicked ass. Go David. I've been drawing RPG character portraits for people. They're so murderously annoying, I wonder why I do it. I just figured out that on the human face, I have a tendency to draw people's noses too close to their mouths. Damn. Everyone when they're drawing has a fluke of some sort. Some people can't draw hands, some people draw foreheads too small, eyes too wide apart, can't shade, can't draw in perspective, can't draw backgrounds, all their people look the same.. *coughFrankChocough*.. well, there's mine.
