I Hart Darth, the cutest Star Wars webcomic out there.

I found the link via Manic Graffiti, the cutest World of Warcraft webcomic out there.

I have a new mattress because my old one had holes in it. This one's bigger and firmer. It feels weird. I've taken the liberty of changing my Star Wars bedsheets to something less totally retarded.

I need to take them Episode One posters off my door too. I have some strange, hideous work of modern art up right now, but hopefully I'll actually get a real painting. I mean, a real print of a painting. Er, a real poster of a print of a good painting.

I think it's hilarious that people all have their panties in a bunch over the "racism" in Attack of the Clones. Obviously George Lucas must be racist because he depicts a clone army of Latinos invading the Grand Old Republic!!!! Nevermind that the guy who plays Jango isn't even Latino... OOH! He looks Latino! Obviously, George Lucas should have had the foresight not to hire this man because he looks Latino! Which would be totally unracist, correct? What the hell??

Can't believe I've gone like a week without blogging. Anyhoo. Yes, I did see Attack of the Clones, with Mr. Thomas. Mwa. And other people, of course. He still hasn't paid me back. Despite trying very hard to avoid bringing up "that new Star Wars movie" at my sister's wedding, other people couldn't stop talking about it, and my parents would be like, "Hey, Angie's seen it!" Grr. Stupid high heels were extremely uncomfortable, and whoever decided to put beading along the side of a dress so that your underarms chafe like hell should be shot. But I looked nice, for once, and you get used to it after a while. My sister was very pretty (but she's generally pretty no matter what she wears, even the traditional Korean chima that makes everyone else look like a tent) and I feel sorrier for her.. she said the dress was really heavy. She had four dresses to change into and out of. Chinese qipao, traditional wedding dress, Korean chima, and evening dress for the dance.. oy. And they're not rentals either.

Nice, Catholic wedding. Except the sermon was all in Korean. And I was annoyed by the (English) sermon on divorce, considering that the father of the bride is divorced. My mom was extremely annoyed that before they had her and the groom's mom go up front and light some candles, the pastor only explained the ritual in Korean.

You'd be amazed by how ghetto looking the reception room was without decorations... before the reception we put on the tablecloths and the seat covers and the centerpieces (floating candles, wOOt!) and garlands and pots of fake flowers all around. Originally, it was fake wood tables (like the type you find at the school library) and folding chairs, with corny looking tin Greek wannabe columns down the middle, but it looked a lot better after we put several thousand dollars worth of decorations on. Plus, they turned off the flourescent lights and turned on the chandeliers and lit the candles. Thank you.

Food was.. odd.. though. Most of it was tempura, but they failed to provide us with tempura sauce.

Anyways.
But it was very romantic when my sister and her husband had their first dance and everyone gathered around them on the dance floor and blew bubbles..

Then when we went home, my dad had to return his tuxedo to one of the guests so that they could return it to the rental place, but my dad forgot to bring an extra pair of pants so he ended up wearing my spare skirt home... Lookie, he's Scottish! No one one fell for it who actually saw him indoors, but at least once we got to the parking lot in the dark it just looked like he was wearing a long coat or something. Oy.

Has anyone noticed the Dorkiness Effect? In Star Trek, or in any other franchise traditionally considered to be dorky, any person considered to be hip by the people and the standards of that universe, are ten times dorkier when judged by Earth standards. This is the same principle that makes perfectly fashionable young women look dorky when they attend comic book and science fiction conventions in costume. For example, Princess Leia is considered to be blindingly hot by guys on the Star Wars universe. But if someone were to walk down the street looking like that, you'd be like, "oH.. my.. gawd! Lose the dress and the cinnabons, girlfriend!" Also, Star Trek and ilk aren't dorky just because their fans are dorks, because even when you take perfectly normal Beautiful People With Social Lives and make them fans or star them in the franchise, the franchise doesn't become any less dorky. In other words, the nature of Dungeons and Dragons makes it dorky, even if nondorks play it. (I think this dorkiness phenomenom is often due to the fact that the dorks who are creators of these dorky enterprises try to write "cool" people by making them stunningly beautiful, but their dorky personalities still come out when they say things like, "Phasers energize!" or "That is quite a broadsword, is it not, young elf?")

Potato on a string! "The Truth" is a good book. Sam Vimes should meet up with Han Solo. I want to see them in a Bastarding Contest. Not.. um.. creating bastards.. but seeing who's the greater bastard. I suspect it's Vimes.. he's a drunkard *and* a "bad cop". That should count for something. Besides, Solo married a princess (if you're into the cheap Star Wars paperbacks anyways), and Vimes only gets a Wagnerian duchess.

"Millenium hand and shrimp! Bugrit!"

it's rather amusing that someone in the Olympics skated to "Duel of the Fates." Dork.

I'm in school, blogging. I feel like such a rebel. Last night's two Atlas Shrugged blogs didn't come out on the blog page yet, but they're visible on my editting page. So I'll see if they show up later. The Phantom Menace Soundtrack is quite rocking. But now I'll forever affiliate the Star Wars theme song with Halley's Fifth Concerto.

Enlightenment RP's annoy me. Stress. It's funny that I play Role Playing Games all the time, but Role Playing, God forbid. I sort of like acting but I have chronic fears that I can't act. I had a dream that I was playing a part in Hamlet but I was really bad and Nick B was like, "You're the worst actress I've ever seen". And I was like.. noooo. And I forgot all my lines on the night of the performance so I had to use the script, only the script kept morphing in my hands, to Romeo and Juliet, and then to Macbeth if I flipped the book upside down.
My parents can make such odd comments about the Phantom Menace. Here goes.

"If Queen Amidala is a queen, then where's her husband?"/ "This looks so much like New York. How do they land the ship with the buildings so close together?" (about Coruscant)/ "Why do they have to land at Tatooine?"/ "Why do people live on Tatooine anyways?"/ "What do you mean the Gungans are speaking English?"/ "Oh, so those are robots?" (about the droid army)/ "Why is Qui-Gon in two pieces?" (about Darth Maul)/ "Is he the king of this planet?" (about Jabba the Hutt)/ "You mean this galaxy has two governments?" (about why the Republican guard and the Naboo Royal Guard are different)/ "They sound Japanese." (On reports of accusations of racism because the Nimoidians have Asian accents)/ "This reminds me of 'Journey to the West.' Why does it take American filmmakers 20 years to do what Chinese filmmakers have been doing for a long time?" (about flying people)/ "Why is there a palace? That doesn't fit a high-tech film."/ "It's the Sea Dragon King and his Shrimp Troops" (about Boss Nass and his hanger-ons, a reference to the undersea kingdom in the Chinese epic, 'Journey to the West', but sounds odd in English)/ "Who's that burning?" (about Qui-Gon's funeral altar)/ "Why did the robots all stop moving?"

Yeaaah. My parents are pretty clueless when it comes to sci-fi.
My parents have been screwing around with our new DVD player. So it's been the unofficial movie weekend for us. Saw the Fandom Menace again and enjoyed it as much as I did the first time. I was awed and boggled like a liddle kiddy. I noticed/felt different things from when I saw it the first two times, which makes me think that movie reviews are totally arbitrary, depending on your mood when you see the movie. Critics and their pretentious crap piss me off. So it was pretty good for what it was worth, though I woulda changed some things. Like push Jake Lloyd and his stupid midochlorians off a cliff. Anyways. Here are some things you probably didn't notice/know..

The pattern on the ceiling of Anakin's room is the same pattern on Darth Maul's face-
One of the guys sitting in the crowd at the pod racing scene is Warwick Davis, who place Warwick the Ewok in Return of the Jedi.
The pod racing crowd scene was created by blowing multi-colored q-tips with a blow dryer.

And some other stuff you don't care about. Anyhoo.
